There was a great post recently from someone I follow about how easy it is to build now. And it got me thinking about the opportunity in front of small people teams.
In my opinion: Startup people professionals/teams have never been in a better position to build, more, better, and faster products for their people.
I've worked in startups and I've worked in big corporates. I choose startups every time, for a few key reasons:
It's easier to get approval (no big IT, procurement, complex stakeholder requirements)
You can build faster
You can iterate faster
All of this is a recipe for success when you throw the bevy of AI tools into the mix.
Yes, you need to be conscious of privacy and safety and data protections, but there are a million things you can use the current suite of AI tools for that don't matter
Case in point - I had a client tell me they needed help conveying the value of equity. And voila. An hour or two of prompting in Lovable in you can have a concept.
Using the post above as an example, it's you can now make:
Professional grade L&D videos to train your team on anything
Build chatbots that help people navigate previously overwhelming knowledge bases
You can build small one off tools (like the one above) that solve a small problem for your team
You can automate previously routine and boring workflows
You can general hyper personalised landing pages for onboarding or to launch new initiatives
The opportunities are endless, and we're truly limited only by our creativity.
So — what are you building?
