Hi, I’m Jacky, Head of People at Thatcham Research, Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, and I have spent my career (35+ years !) in HR roles across public and private sector organisations, always with a strong focus on creating workplaces where people can do their best work and feel genuinely supported (while occasionally muttering “there must be a better way” along the journey).
In my current role, I lead our People Strategy, partnering with leaders and teams to shape culture, develop capability and make sure our people agenda actually supports where the organisation is heading, not just what looks good on a slide deck. I’m a big believer that great people practices are built on trust, transparency and the confidence to have honest conversations, even when they’re a bit uncomfortable.
I’m all about people‑first leadership, practical HR, and learning from others who’ve been there before . HR can sometimes feel like a lonely place to sit, especially when you’re navigating complexity, change or competing priorities (although I am blessed with a great team) but having network communities like In Good Company adds another lens. I
