I am part of a three-person HR team for an independent school in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I came from a corporate background in service industries from PR to Finance to Med-tech.
My current role is mostly engaged in recruiting and the applicant experience. The School is self-insured which means staying abreast, and hopefully, ahead of healthcare trends. Beyond health insurance planning and enhancements, I conduct competitive compensation analysis across the spectrum of staff and faculty. We are AI invested, using it for a range of activities: automating rote tasks, conducting deep-dive analysis, and fostering a safe learning environment.
The other integral piece is culture: we pull a lot of resources into Employee health and wellness. These are not just buzzwords, we create partnerships and relationships in our community to offer an assortment of options. In the interest of accessibility, we focus on what we can bring to our people during the workday to foster a fun and healthy work environment.
