Hey, In Good Company
I'm Justin — Global VP of People, Talent & Culture at Arkose Labs, a cybersecurity company building the technology that stops bots and fraud at scale. We're a global team of 200+ across eight countries, and I get to be the person responsible for making sure the humans behind that technology feel seen, supported, and set up to do their best work.
I joined Arkose as the company's first executive People hire — no team, no playbook, just a fast-scaling company that needed someone to build the People function from scratch. Seven years later, my phenomenal global team and I own the full stack: talent acquisition, performance, comp, benefits, immigration, compliance, facilities, employee relations, and people analytics. It's a big remit, and I genuinely love every complicated corner of it.
A little about me outside the org chart: I was born in South Africa, grew up Canadian, and have called San Francisco home for most of my adult life. Travel is non-negotiable for me — new places, new cultures, new food — it's honestly shaped how I think about building teams across borders. I believe deeply in "culture adds, not culture fits," and I try to bring that into everything we build at Arkose.
We're a HiBob shop, so I'm excited to be in a community of people who speak the same language — and I'm always up for a real conversation about what's working, what isn't, and where we're all figuring it out together.
And yes — I need to mention Roscoe. He's my 15-year-old Chihuahua, frequent flyer, and the undisputed Chief K9 Officer of our household. If you ever see a tiny dog in a Goyard bag in my profile photo, that's him. He approves this introduction.
