Thank you for a fantastic event!

Thanks to the Hibob Toronto chapter for a fantastic evening. While the networking was top-tier, what really stood out was the Mejuri team itself.

They were Excellent. It was a live masterclass and I call this "The Mirror Effect." In People Ops, we know you can’t fake a world-class customer experience if the internal culture is struggling. The energy and cohesion the team showed is a direct symptom of a thriving internal environment. When the culture is the engine, the customer experience is the natural result.

It was a pleasure catching up with familiar faces and also new people.

Looking forward to the next event!

In Good Company @ Mejuri – Toronto Chapter

Last week I had the privilege of attending my first HiBob event! I left with 2 new piercings and many new HR friends. The Mejuri Studio was beautiful and the people were even better. The HR community in Toronto is something special: warm, passionate, and genuinely invested in the people and businesses they support.

I can't wait for the next one! See you soon friends! 💖

2025 Merit Increase

Hi there, we are thick in budgeting season right now and I was wondering what other companies in the tech space (100 employees) are thinking for merit increases? In the past we have done 3-4% of payroll but times are changing.

If you could share what your company is doing that would be greatly appreciated as I want to make sure we stay competitive, fair and equitable.

Thank you

Hey Karen, I actually just got this report from Pave that should be super helpful!

Seems like, on average, things have stabilised a lot, and most companies are targeting 3.5% for their merit increase, and an overall budget of ~5%.

Hope that helps.

IGC Live: Toronto Recap

What an awesome time we spent together in Toronto.
IGC Live: Toronto's launch event brought HR pros together for honest conversations about what’s working, what’s changing, and what’s keeping teams up at night. No fluff. Just real talk from people doing the work.

We dug into:
AI in HR isn’t about replacing people — it’s about removing the admin that slows teams down and sharpening decision-making.
AI isn’t taking or making jobs outright — it’s reshaping them. The skills that matter most (communication, judgment, adaptability) are becoming even more valuable.
Hiring the next generation of talent means meeting them where they are — with clarity, speed, development, and managers who can actually lead.

The best part? Watching strangers become a community of friends in real time.

Let's keep the conversation flowing here at In Good Company.

Bonus: Here is a copy of the deck that our very own Kenneth Matos presented!

Can't wait to see you all at the next one!

French/English compliance in HR Comms

Double the languages, double the work—or double the inclusion?

Across Canada—and especially in Québec—bilingual communication isn’t just a best practice, it’s a legal requirement in many cases. From employment contracts and policies to internal surveys and onboarding materials, HR teams are under pressure to localize everything properly.

But with limited bandwidth and regional nuances, it’s not always clear what must be bilingual vs. what’s just “nice to have.”

Question
How is your team managing bilingual HR content? What tools or processes are helping you meet compliance needs without duplicating effort—or losing cultural nuance?
