In Good Company Happy Hour – Amsterdam (HR Tech Europe)

During HR Tech Europe, we brought the community together for a lively In Good Company Happy Hour in Amsterdam, welcoming 150+ attendees for an evening of connection and great energy.

Hosted at Ginger on the 23rd floor, guests enjoyed stunning panoramic views over the city while catching up with peers across the HR and tech space.

Highlights from the evening:

  • A vibrant, high-energy atmosphere, with a live DJ setting the tone for a relaxed and social experience

  • Great food and an open bar, creating the perfect backdrop for informal conversations and new connections

  • A warm welcome from Yoss Perl, who kicked off the evening and brought everyone together

From start to finish, the event was all about bringing people together in a fun, informal setting — strengthening relationships, sparking conversations, and celebrating the HR community during one of the year’s biggest industry moments.

Thanks so much to everyone who participated, stopped by the HiBob booth, and made the event so special.

IGC Live: Amsterdam Event Recap

Thank you to our members in Amsterdam for joining us at IGC Live!
HiBob's Amsterdam office hosted our inaugural IGC Live in the Netherlands this week. 🎉 Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for an evening of connection, cocktails, and honest conversation.

Here's what we covered:

  • Building on the NYC AI discussion, the Amsterdam event featured a panel with HR leaders from Gorilla, JetBrains, and Quatt, offering an honest look at how organizations are approaching AI at very different stages. From full-scale AI integration led by HR, to cautious experimentation driven by IT and GDPR considerations, to sandbox testing and incremental progress — the panel reflected the reality, not the hype, of AI adoption today.

  • No one-size-fits-all approach to AI:
A standout moment came when one panelist candidly shared that, as a startup, they currently have “bigger fish to fry” than AI — reinforcing a key takeaway from the discussion: AI maturity depends on business context, priorities, and readiness, and moving slowly can be just as strategic as moving fast.

  • Connection, candor, and community:
The evening brought together 40 HR and People leaders in a relaxed, welcoming environment filled with great food, Bob’s signature In Good Company cocktails, and open, honest conversation. Attendees valued the chance to exchange challenges and ideas in a trusted, safe space, leaving energized, connected, and eager for more.

We can't wait to gather again in the New Year! Thanks again for joining us.👏

Employee engagement and autonomy in flat structures

📉 No org chart? No problem—until people feel lost.

Dutch companies are known for flat hierarchies and empowered teams. But with less structure comes new challenges—especially around feedback, career development, and clarity.

Some HR teams are reintroducing light frameworks—like growth plans, role maps, or decision-making protocols—to reduce ambiguity without losing the benefits of autonomy.

Question
How do you maintain clarity and engagement in a flat or decentralized structure? Any tools, rituals, or lessons you'd recommend?👇

Mental health and burnout in Dutch work culture

🧠 Everyone’s talking about stress—so why aren’t we doing more about it?

Dutch workers enjoy some of the best vacation time in Europe, but burnout is still on the rise—especially among younger employees and knowledge workers. HR leaders are trying to go beyond wellness perks and focus on root causes: workload, role clarity, and psychological safety.

But there’s a balance to strike. How do you support mental health without creating “wellbeing fatigue”? And what’s your legal duty of care under Dutch health & safety law?

Question
What’s one change you’ve made in your company that’s actually improved mental wellbeing—and what’s still a challenge in your culture?👇
